hotel

location: Romania, Bucharest

A hotel where we focused on the importance of the relation between public and private space. There is no physical limit. The ramps of the building mark a sort of virtual separation. We could say it is a hotel like a museum where the exhibition elements are the rooms. The structure is simple in order to have a better perception of the spaces. The position of the site is in between the lake Baneasa on the north and on the south part. It is a zone with private houses, so the density of the city is very low. There is a high quality of vegetation and a beautiful view of the city. The inside organisation of the hotel is very simple. The private space is organised in such way that has direct natural light and also nice views to the lake and the city on the est - west side. In the middle of the private space is the public space, with all the activities like cafe-bar, cinema, etc, accessible to the public, without disturbing the guests, by using the ramps. This space is lighted through a zenital light brought by the two structural courtyards.
